Your Guide to
DYNAMIC Branding Photos
Branding Photography. I’m sorry, what?
Let’s take a step back. What is a brand? Well, Wikipedia’s definition of a brand is “a name, term, design, symbol or any other feature that identifies one seller's good or service as distinct from those of other sellers.”
So brand photography is a visual representation of a brand! And that’s what we will accomplish with your brand photography session. We will bring your brand to life.
How well do you know your brand?
Some things to ask yourself:
How would I describe myself as an entrepreneur?
What are three words I would use to describe my brand?
What are some of my interests, favorite things, or objects that could represent my brand?
What is your goal?
To ensure maximum impact for your branding session, think about what you want to achieve with your images.
What do I want my images to convey?
What will I be using my images for? Social
media? Website? LinkedIn?
Do I need portraits and/or action photos (on a
laptop, walking, etc.)?
Are product/detail photos important to me?
Nicole, what do I wear?
While finalizing your wardrobe can be a difficult decision, it doesn’t have to be. Consider the following:
What do I want my images to portray? Casual? More formal? Business casual?
What are my brand colors? My favorite colors?
After answering the above questions, it’s time to go shopping!
While you don’t have to purchase anything new, it’s important to look and feel your best! Keep in mind shoes, accessories, and down to the details like your nails. Give yourself enough time to make any adjustments before your session.
I suggest staying away from distracting prints or stripes that make take away from your goals of the session.
Location, Location, Location
You can absolutely suggest a location. If you have a studio or an office that will will work, please let me know! As your photographer these are the questions I ask myself when considering a location:
Is the location well lit?
Does it compliment your wardrobe?
Does the location fit your session
goals?
A little...lagniappe, if you will 😊
Professional Makeup
Having your makeup done ensures your image have a polished final look. You’ll literally be putting your best face forward! If you do not have a makeup artist you work with, I would be happy to recommend one to you!
Nicole, I’m not a model!
I completely understand! And don’t worry! As your photographer, it is my job to guide you. You have determined the goals for your session, what you will wear, and a location has been set. The only thing left to do is to show up and enjoy yourself! Because you are comfortable, I can expertly capture genuine expressions of your personality.
